Oh well, this is not my first blog. But I thought why not start anew?
Today's Straits Times, The New Paper, previous days' Today newspaper... all the publications are talking about blogs and the bloggers and vlogs... it stirred up the interest in me again. I thought, hey, Can't beat them? Join them! Anyway, I know that when Dave is back in Brighton, I will have to spend lots of time in front of the computer again and that will leave me lots of time to write/blog.
Lets first talk about why the name THE MISSUS ...
that is the name that I am fondly known as to Dave. And the honest truth is that I have grown so used to it, I refer to myself as THE MISSUS when I talk to him! Like "The Missus is hungry, what about you?" I call myself THE MISSUS on msn messenger too. Jimbo loves to address me "Mrs Chew" and in the credits of the short film Dave and he made (which I played the role of "tourist"), I was known as The Missus" too!
Though many people still like to be known as "Ms Tan", "Ms Lim", "Ms Teo" when they are married, I am looking forward to be known as Mrs xxx when I eventually marry. I may not be as extream to add my husband's surname in front of mine in my passport (like what most old school aunties do), but I will be glad to be known as Mrs Chew to others when the time comes =)
I would love to be seen with my engagement ring and wedding band all the time and I will be happy to tell the world that I am taken! I am a traditionist when it comes to such things.
While I don't have these exterior symbols (rings) at this point in time, I am enjoying the names that were given to me and the bond that is shared between us. And of course, singlehood and togetherness.
