The Missus

Its been a crazy Monday clearing emails and following up on last week's work. Like what Vani said "you may for it when you return from your leave". How true.

Was in a taxi to Jurong today and saw The Science Centre from afar - It actually excites me to see the The Science Centre! Brings back the memories of excursions!

Finished typing the church wedding mass booklet last night and its down to selecting the hymns. First, need to get the choir ... next the invite cards... its amazing, its about 5 mths away now.

Another photo by my O2 phone.

Taken on my O2 phone, in Zouk & Velvet last week for Kevin's birthday. The resolution quite lousy but got the phone for its functionality.
Any way, figured that partying and clubbing is really not our cup of tea anymore. It must be the age thing! Rather spend the night watching DVD in bed these days!

The stomach ache, pain, discomfort, air, bloatedness...etc is not going away. Its been there since Friday. Doc said no oily & spicy food, no milk and no COFFEE!!

Just to reconfirm that I didn't get it wrong, I actually asked her one more time - "Did you say no coffee?" .. Doc gave me a big smile and a resounding "YES!"

Feeling the withdrawal effect already, not physically, but mentally - wondering if I should head straight to office from train station before hitting office or pretend that doc didn't say anything about coffee and continue to get my morning dose from Coffee and Toast. After lunch, I was asking myself what should I drink since I'm not supposed to drink coffee. The thought didn't last very long as I was too busy to even walk to the pantry for a drink.

Perhaps I should take this opportunity to quit coffee. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps!

A NEW WEEK, A FRESH START? OR AM I CLINGING ON TO LAST WEEK?
- thought of the day, mindless, but just came into my head anyway.

Slowly and surely, I am getting into the swing of things! Left the office at 7pm sharp today! What an achievement! Giving myself another 2 weeks to settle into the new position and I'll be out of the office by 6.30pm everyday! Planned my sales call for the week and did my fair share of homework today. I'm gonna be - SUPER SALES WOMAN in no time! Motivational talk for myself - works most of the of the time, though not all the time :)

Had an enjoyable dinner with Dearie, Grace and Jimbo in Siglap today, as usual, the guys were entertaining. Ended off with Dearie's unfulfilled ice-cream craving in Haagen Daz - Macademia Nuts, Strawberry & our fav Rum & Raisin ice cream topped with strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries! Now I feel guilty pigging out while Jimbo and Grace stayed disciplined, drinking ice water. Shouldn't be indulging in so much food!

Crossed the road to check out the wedding cake from Montreux Bakery... still thinking if its worth setting aside 1k to feed more than 300 guests with a real wedding cake - most coupls have a dummy; should I simply do without the cake cutting ceremony or order a big enough cake to feed all the guests? No way to cutting into dummy cake!

Decided to live without the Coach bag , for now. Will review again. A little sacrifice won't hurt, a little more in the bank now, sure helps. Months down the road, I'm sure I will agree with my own "wise decision" Ha!

Past Months.
Forgot my password and too lazy to simply click on the "recover password" link, hence, didn't write for so long...
Many things happened during the last few months and I am happy to say that they are all good news!

Almost left for another Hotel, but my kind bosses offered me to stay. I was also given the opportunity to try something new, something which I would like to try for some time and would have left the Hotel for. After the 3 sessions of "negotiation", I stayed. And now, I am thankful for that, for reasons that I can only keep to myself for now.

And for those who do not know yet - I have settled on my wedding date! Finally got down to some serious work! Settled on the bridal package, church, priest, banquet venue & photographer, in less than a month's time. That was in Feb. And now that we are in Apr, the wedding is about 6 months away.

The planning took a break last week and its is going to pick up again this coming week. There are still lots more to go, cards, invite list, programme, songs...etc.

Both of us are very particicular with the choice of songs. Not going to live with a another cheesy video with te "standard wedding songs". Every song will be handpicked with agreement from us both! Ha ha.. somethings can be compromised but not for some others.

Just like our choice photographer. Though it was included in the bridal package, we have decided to "axed" the photographer and have engaged an independent photographer. After meeting close to 5 or 6 photographers, we have decided on Gary. I guess the chemistry plays a great part and I would say we are most comfortable him. Will have to catch up with him soon and also, have him visit the church to check on the lighting and space.

Have taken a day off to go for gown selection & design next Friday. Mentally prepared for a long and tiring afternoon and I am sure its going to take VERY long. Hopefully, I will be able to squeeze in a visit to the church;s secretariat or meeting with the priest on the same morning.

Dearie said that I work very fast and he is falling behind! I love to make him feel panicky by completing the tasks before our schdeuled deadline and doing his share of task for him before he even started! It must be due to my event planning background - OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD, but in a good way this time.
