Many things happened during the last few months and I am happy to say that they are all good news!
Almost left for another Hotel, but my kind bosses offered me to stay. I was also given the opportunity to try something new, something which I would like to try for some time and would have left the Hotel for. After the 3 sessions of "negotiation", I stayed. And now, I am thankful for that, for reasons that I can only keep to myself for now.
And for those who do not know yet - I have settled on my wedding date! Finally got down to some serious work! Settled on the bridal package, church, priest, banquet venue & photographer, in less than a month's time. That was in Feb. And now that we are in Apr, the wedding is about 6 months away.
The planning took a break last week and its is going to pick up again this coming week. There are still lots more to go, cards, invite list, programme, songs...etc.
Both of us are very particicular with the choice of songs. Not going to live with a another cheesy video with te "standard wedding songs". Every song will be handpicked with agreement from us both! Ha ha.. somethings can be compromised but not for some others.
Just like our choice photographer. Though it was included in the bridal package, we have decided to "axed" the photographer and have engaged an independent photographer. After meeting close to 5 or 6 photographers, we have decided on Gary. I guess the chemistry plays a great part and I would say we are most comfortable him. Will have to catch up with him soon and also, have him visit the church to check on the lighting and space.
Have taken a day off to go for gown selection & design next Friday. Mentally prepared for a long and tiring afternoon and I am sure its going to take VERY long. Hopefully, I will be able to squeeze in a visit to the church;s secretariat or meeting with the priest on the same morning.
Dearie said that I work very fast and he is falling behind! I love to make him feel panicky by completing the tasks before our schdeuled deadline and doing his share of task for him before he even started! It must be due to my event planning background - OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD, but in a good way this time.
