Went back to Brighton yesterday as we thought that we may not go back in a long while.
Took the 9am coach, went back to 172 Lewes Road and then, visited Brighton Pier, Laines & Churchill Square!
I have never been to Brighton during Summer and the feeling is totally different. Brighton looked so much more lively with the sun shinning on the happy faces. Walking along the Pier is a must-do and we did and took some more pictures there though we already have loads!
There was no intention to buy anything but simply strolling through the Laines with Dearie and revisiting some of my favourite shops was good enough.
Visited Whittard and bought some gifts for colleagues. Most of the time, there is this pressure to buy gifts for others than to find something for myself. After the gifts were settled, I feel so much better.. Hmm...
Fish and Chips and Beef & Kidney Pie were the menu for the day. Returned to the Fish & Chips Shop at Pool Valley where we last ate with Jimbo's parents. Since the last visit, I could feel that the chef really takes pride in the preparation of the food - full concentration as he dips the fish into the batter and then, fry it. He always tell his guests with a smile that it will take about 8 mins as everything is cooked fresh. The food was delicious as before and he definitely deserves more business than the lousy fish and chips stalls at the Pier!
We will definitely miss Brighton and hope to return some day. When we next visit London, I am certain that we will find time to fit Brighton into our itinerary. And I hope that Kensington (our favourite English Breakfast Place), Pool Valley Fish & Chips, Velvet (my Favourite Pinky-Girly Shop)... will still be around.
