ENGAGED FOR 1 YEAR ALREADY...
It was our 1st year Anniversary last year - one year after he proposed in Rome. I miss being in Rome... The only thing that was like Rome yesterday - the rainy and cool weather.
We were determined to make it to Altivo since it all started right up there for us some 2 years ago. Was surprised when we were told that there is an entrance fee of $3 per person as we used to walk in freely to have drinks there. Discovered that it was all becos of the "snow" show.. Anyway, it was reasonable since we will get the $3 rebate for every $15 spent on F&B. For the record, the snow show sucks and I was amazed how some people were so fascinated and rushed to take photos up close.
Dearie ordered his good old Fish & Chips, something that never fails. He is like that - always faithful towards his favorites e chicken rice, nasi lemak, carrot cake, fish and chips. Though there are a hundred variety to choose from, he will go for the standard items. Tells a lot about his character too.. hahaha.. ever faithful???!!!
I had seafood pasta with chunky tomato. Guess its good not to have expectations sometimes as the pasta turned out pretty well. Honestly, I went there with the mentality that the food may be crap since we are likely to be paying for the view up there but well, it exceeded my expectation. Chilled out at the sofa after dinner with a beer for him and a martini for me. How nice if life is that good everyday.
Decided to take up the cable car offer and we took a ride from Mt Faber to Harbourfront and into Sentosa and back to Harbourfront. As far as I can remember , I have never tried the cable cars in Singapore though I've tried those nerve wreaking ones in places like Mt Sorak and some other places. The ride last night was quiet, still, calming and extremely stable. It was a quiet ride as Dearie was scared..hahah.. the ex-commando is actually fearful of heights. He didn't move much as was not even willing to place his bag on the seat opposite us, he said what if it flies out? Chey, the doors are automatically secured, what fly out??! Wondered how he ever jumped off 100 floors from a helicopter and yet, feels nervous sitting in a stable cable car! He was glad that when the ride ended, in fact, I can feel that he was relieved. Shall not "torture" him with such activity next time :)
As much as I miss Rome, being with Dearie in Singapore is good enough. It is not about where you are but rather, who you are with.
Already looking forward to our next anniversary in June... and next year, it will be our 12th..
